What's new in the agent for macOS

You can find information about new releases of the Windows, Linux, and Unix agent in the Deep Security Help Center.

Deep Security Agent for macOS is currently only supported for Trend Micro Cloud One - Workload Security.

Changes described in an "In preview" section are only available to specific customers at this time. If you'd like more information, please contact Trend Micro support.

Deep Security Agent for macOS - 20.0.0-213 (20 LTS Update 2023-08-29)

  • New Language Support: Deep Security Agent now supports Polish and Czech.

  • Advanced Threat Scan Engine version has been updated to 22.6.

  • Deep Security Agent was sending Endpoint Activity Data to Endpoint & Workload Security even if the Trend Vision One XDR license had expired.

  • AWS IoT integration: In order to improve IoT connection functions, a new standalone application dsa-connect is imported with the agent. The dsa-connect application serves as an IoT hub for the agent, handling and routing all IoT communications.

  • Anti-Malware: Real-Time Scan, Manual Scan, and Scheduled Scan can all be triggered from Trend Micro Cloud One - Workload Security. Additionally, the Anti-Malware offline scheduled scan feature allows scheduled scans for malware to run even when the agent is unable to connect to Workload Security.
  • Web Reputation: Deep Security Agent for macOS uses a browser extension ("Trend Micro Toolbar" for Safari, Chrome, and Firefox browsers) to support both HTTP and HTTPS for the Web Reputation module.

In preview:

  • Device Control: Deep Security Agent for macOS supports Device Control for USB Mass Storage protocol with Full Access, Ready-Only and Block policies on macOS.
  • Activity Monitoring: Deep Security Agent for macOS supports Trend Micro XDR Activity Monitoring. For more information about XDR and Activity Monitoring, see Integrate Workload Security with XDR. Network Isolation Response from the Vision One Portal is also supported.
  • Security updates: Deep Security Agent for macOS supports pattern update and engine update. Support for rollback security updates will be added in a future release.
